Having traveled extensively in Africa and Asia, I have spent countless hours observing elephants in their natural habitats. Valerie's painting, "Safe in Her Shadow", evokes vivid memories of baby elephants at play, frolicking, indulging in mischief, being corrected by their elders, and then finding comfort in the embrace of their mothers. Inspired by the emotional impact of "Safe in Her Shadow" , I decided to purchase the piece as a gift for my parents. The painting serves as a heartfelt reminder of the importance of elephants in my life and symbolizes the sense of safety and protection they have always provided for me.
